Combinatorial Riemann-Roch Theorems.

  • Dr. Madhusudan Manjunath, School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London.

This is an introduction to Riemann-Roch theory for graphs due to Baker and Norine. We focus on connections to combinatorial commutative algebra. Alexander duality, free resolutions: finite and infinite make an appearance. This talk is based on joint work with i. Bernd Sturmfels, ii. F-O Schreyer and John Wilmes, and iii. Alex Fink. Next Talk
