Postdoctoral positions

The Department of Mathematics accepts applications for postdoctoral positions year-round, and the selection committee reviews applications on a regular basis.

Post-doctoral fellows are expected to maintain a high standard of research and will also be responsible for teaching and conducting exams.

Postdoctoral fellows will work closely with a mentor in the department who specializes in their research area. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to a faculty member close to their research interest to seek consent to mentor them, although it is not mandatory to apply for the position. Fellowships

• IITM offers an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship (IPDF) to PhD graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in teaching and research. For more information about the IPDF application procedure, please click here.
• Candidates with external postdoctoral funding (such as NBHM, N-PDF, CSIR, etc.) are encouraged to apply. It is advisable to obtain consent from a department faculty member to mentor you and then write to the Head of the Department (HoD).
