In this talk I will discuss Knutson ideals. Invented relatively recently, Knutson ideals form an interesting class that is easy to create, constructive, but hard to show a given ideal is Knutson. In general, Knutson ideals are F-pure in all prime characteristics, thus marking its importance in the study of F-singularities. The goal is to present Seccia's beautiful proof on why determinantal ideals of generic matrices are Knutson.
