Abstract :

After briefly indicating the importance of fibrations and cofibrations in algebraic topology, we shall prove the following two results: 1. Every cofibration is an embedding (known to experts). 2. Every surjective fibration on a locally path connected space is a quotient map. The talk is self contained.
