In this talk, I will discuss two classical theorems in commutative algebra, 'The Intersection Theorem' and 'The Principal Ideal Theorem', both due to Krull. I will be following the paper by D. Rees that appeared in Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 52, no.1 (1956), 155-157. The proofs are elementary in nature and can be understood by people with some basic knowledge in ring theory.
