Abstract :

We will begin with a quick review of the notion of Seshadri constants on arbitrary projective varieties and mention some important problems which guide much of the research on this topic. We will then discuss some recent results in the case of ruled surfaces, hyperelliptic surfaces and Grassmannian bundles on smooth curves.
