Abstract :

Orbifolds lie at the intersection of many different areas of mathematics, including algebraic and differential geometry, topology, algebra and most importantly string theory, which is an useful tool in particle physics. Orbifolds are generalizations of manifolds in some sense. In this talk I am going to discuss the definition and some examples of orbifold along with basic results.
